
ABOUT ME
As a rising Junior at St. George’s School in Vancouver, Canada, I am driven by a deep‑rooted commitment to deploying scientific innovation to tackle pressing global environmental challenges. Over two consecutive years, I carried out independent chemistry‑focused research aimed at discovering and engineering advanced functional materials for water‑pollution remediation. Under the mentorship of Professor Jie Song, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Michigan‑Flint, I completed and published a 5,108‑word original research paper titled "Interfacial Engineering of Graphene Oxide Immobilization on Polylactic Acid Substrates through Surface Modification" in the peer‑reviewed Ukrainian scientific journal Strength of Materials.
My passion for science has driven me to launch a social initiative tackling water pollution harms borne by Indigenous communities in False Creek, a waterway situated near my neighborhood. To deliver actionable, grassroot- level support, I distributed water pollution testing toolkits and educational pamphlets to raise local awareness of water contamination, in addition to building a digital platform that monitors water and facilitates information dissemination.
To push for institutional change, I led a petition campaign calling upon the Canadian government to reinforce supervision and enforcement of anti-water pollution policies. Extending this environmental justice advocacy to visual storytelling, I assumed full creative stewardship as producer, director and screenwriter for my documentary "Sufferance of Indigenous Communities Brought Forth by Water Contamination."

Apart from filmmaking, my other passion is kung-fu. What started as 12 years of rigorous traditional kung‑fu training from age four took a surprising twist when I decided to repurpose my martial arts into low‑impact workouts built for older adults. By August 2026, I had produced 28 episodes of “Kung Fu with Aaron.” I teach these modified kung‑fu sessions bi-monthly at nearby community hubs and share every lesson on YouTube.
